Leverage

Leverage magnifies both gains and losses. Small price movements can cause large losses. Features such as lot scaling with balance and recovery legs increase position size and therefore increase risk.

Automated trading

Automated software follows predefined rules and cannot adapt to every market condition. Technical failures, internet or power outages, VPS problems, broker server issues, requotes, slippage, widened spreads and latency can cause results that differ from expectations, including missed exits.
